Most metropolitan councils (16 of 31) offer a free bundled branch / prunings collection services in addition to their green waste bins. The bundled green waste collection service is for bulky green waste such as branches that do not easily fit in a bin.
Preparing bundled branches
Branches and prunings must be securely tied into manageable bundles and neatly stacked for collection. Loose, oversized, excessively heavy or difficult-to-handle bundles may not be collected.
These requirements are designed to reduce hazardous manual handling risks to collection crews in line with WorkSafe Victoria guidance. Please refer to your council's collection requirements for applicable bundle size, branch length and weight limits.
