Hard waste
Booking instructions
- Bookings will be confirmed by email directly after booking is placed. A confirmation SMS will be sent the Friday before your collection is booked to take place.
- Mattresses, soft furniture (couches, sofa etc.), fridges/air conditioners and car tyres must be booked with your collection, or they will not be collected
- Neatly place items on the nature strip the weekend before the collection week (by 6am Monday morning of your collection week). Do not place items on your nature strip any earlier.
- Items should be no heavier than two people can lift, and less than 1.5m in length.
- Hard waste piles exceeding 2 cubic metres in size WILL NOT be collected, please refer to brochure for more information.
- Residents are responsible for removing any material not collected by the contractor within 24 hours of collection.
When do I put my waste out?
- Neatly place items on the nature strip the weekend before the collection week (by 6am Monday morning of your collection week)
- Do not put items out on your nature strip without booking.
- It is recommended residents take a photo of their hard waste pile once placed on the nature strip, prior to collection occurring. This will be used as evidence to assist Council if illegal dumping occurs
Items placed on the nature strip without a booking are considered as illegal dumping and may result in a fine.
Do not leave any items of value near hard waste piles as these will be deemed as hard waste and if taken, no compensation will be given.
What Items can I put out ?
We will COLLECT
- Mattresses (if paid for)
- Soft furniture (couch/sofa etc.) (if paid for)
- Fridges/air conditioners (if paid for)
- Tyres (Car tyres only – maximum of four (4) per collection) (if paid for)
- Household (boxed miscellaneous)
- Household furniture (chair, table etc)
- Scrap metal (1.5 meters length)
- E-waste (anything with a plug, cord or inbuilt batteries)
- Carpet and underlay (1.5 metres length)
- Sheet glass (up to 1.5m width) securely wrapped in either cardboard or bubble wrap and CLEARLY labelled Glass. Table tops need to be removed from their frame prior to wrapping
- Timber (up to 10 pieces, no longer than 1.5 metres length)
Most materials collected will be recycled or reused where possible.
We will NOT COLLECT
- Mattresses, soft furniture, fridges/air conditioners and car tyres (that haven't been paid for with the booking)
- Building waste and renovation materials
- Concrete sheeting
- Gas bottles
- Tyres (4WD, truck and non car tyres)
- Chemicals, oils or poisons
- Paint
- Household recycling and rubbish
- Bean bags, polystyrene and foam
- Hazardous waste including asbestos
- Commercial or industrial waste
- Household batteries
