Booking your green waste collection:

All residential properties within Brimbank are eligible for one free rubbish collection per financial year.

If you would like both 4m³ of hard rubbish and 2m³ of green waste as part of your one free collection, you will need to fill out both hard and green waste collection forms at the same time.

Additional hard rubbish collections can be booked and cost $84.08 per green waste collection, $109.84 per hard rubbish collection; plus $17.33 per tyre, $31.19 per mattress, & $46.20 per fridge/air conditioner. Collection to be booked and paid by credit card over the phone.

Book your collection early to avoid disappointment

Green Waste Booking Collection Information:

It is very important to follow the below collection guidelines carefully. If we are unable to safely access and remove your hard rubbish or green waste items, or if you place out unacceptable items your collection may not take place. If this happens, we will leave a note, your free collection will be forfeited and you will need to move the items and re-book your collection.

We will collect:

  • Items must be able to be lifted to shoulder height by one person
  • Tree branches and prunings– bundled and tied with string or twine (less then 75mm wide and 1.5m long. Bundles must be smaller than 300m wide)
  • Single tree limbs (no branches attached, neatly stacked) smaller than 200mm wide and 1.5 long

We will NOT COLLECT:

  • Untied tree branches or prunings
  • Green waste tied with materials other than string or twine
  • Green waste in plastic bags or containers
  • Grass clippings, weeds and leaves
  • Noxious weeds or vines
  • Bundles in excess of 300mm wide or 1.5m long
  • Large tree stumps or roots
  • Tree limbs wider than 200mm
  • Fence panels or timber of any type
  • Items not able to be lifted by one person

 

How much rubbish can you put out?

4m³ equals – 4m x 1m x 1m. In feet, this equates to 13ft x 3ft x 3ft.

2m³ equals – 2m x 1m x 1m. In feet, this equates to 7ft x 3ft x 3ft.

Please place your rubbish:

  • Out the weekend before your collection (no later than 6am Monday morning of your collection week).
  • Just inside your property boundary – either front lawn or driveway, no more than 2 metres from the property boundary, with clear access for collection crews.
  • We encourage you to place your items neatly and in a defined pile.
  • In a spot that is easily accessible by the collection crew and free from obstructions: gates are to be left open and rubbish cannot be leaning on or touching any items such as cars, fences or buildings.

When using the hard rubbish service please note:

  • If you are unable to place your waste inside your property boundary, please make a note in the ‘special instructions’ section of the booking form so your consideration request can be reviewed by our team.
  • Do not leave any items of value near hard rubbish piles as these will be deemed as hard rubbish and if taken, no compensation will be given.
